[CLOSED][0.7.9] Shield spell does nothing?

I've bought the Celestia's Shield spell twice, and have been unable to cast it either time.  It's not an issue of not having enough mana--I can't even get a spell description when I hover over the spell tile, as I can with other spells. 

The two times in question, I was playing as an Alicorn Wizard and a Unicorn Rogue, if that helps.  Thanks!
