Spam problem on forums

I've noticed that Spam accounts are being set up. Is there a measure we can add to stop this?

I already changed registration to avoid them flooding this forum.
Currently there are no new spam accounts registering here, all that continue to spam are old sleeper agents. Probably I should revisit the user list and make a cleaning session for the Great Justice.

P.S. I almost tried to delete this topic too, before I realized that this is the first legitimate message in the flood subforum.

These are other bots actually. At least their quantity is bearable, they do not add a dozen of new users every time I am not looking at the forum.

If you'd like, I would love to help kill spam. I can keep the forums clean while you focus on abandoning us for season 4-- I mean, do research.

I want to be more proactie by automatically banning any account that doesn't have a real username, but I'm afraid I might ban someone legit by accident, what should I do?

Hm... we're working on tools to better recognize and filter the bots, if you have ideas - it will be great. But banning them before they have a chance to post only according to usernames can accidentally ban a living person, so no for now. How many bots do you here encounter per day?

It varies, sometimes it's one, sometimes it's a mass posting.

Thanks! We'll clear the bots and find a way to improve the registration procedure after some time, but for now we're doing what we can to keep this place clean.

No need to bother to report, we're clearing tens of them every day anyways.
